When I was thinking about what the topic should be this week, I had a lot of different ideas. This I think is an interesting one… I personally think that the memories are the more important than the actual experiences. I mean, if you never have the actual experiences, I suppose it would be difficult to have the memory from it, but if you don’t have the memory from it, then what was the point of the experience? I have many different memories from different things that I have been told and not even experienced. Stories from my grandparents, etc. that are enjoyable to go back and remind myself of. I also think that the actual experience you can only “experience” once; the memory of the experience can be re-lived over and over again. As far as a BEST memory...now that is a hard one. I am not sure that I actually have a BEST memory. I have many memories that I cherish and each and every one has value and importance to me. From experiences with my children, my husband, family and friends that are no longer with us… so many memories that I cherish. I guess, to sum it up, I vale the memories more than the actual experiences.
Interesting! I think you are totally right. You can have a memory and hold that memory forever. You can only have a experience once. I like your thinking.
I think that the memory is more important because experiences only happen once. Memories you can remember and recall as many times as you like. For example, I always loved my aunt Jen, but she past away. I can't experience all the fun times I had with her, but I can always have a spot in my memory for her. I am always imagining what she is doing and always will remember her. That is why memories I feel are more important then actual experiences. But, my best memory is when I got my puppy at the shop. I still love those big brown eyes today! It was funny when we first took him home, because he was SO confused on what was going on. He got scared when we turned the lights off and when we turned on the TV, and he went to the bathroom in the house. I always loved that memory, and I still do. Today, my dog is huge,( in height and in weight ) , and he now knows what is going on all the time. So, that is my best memory, and that is also why I think that memories are a lot more important than the actual experiences.
great job. last night my cat and dog got scarred because of the sound of the movie "star wars the force awakens" the both jumped and it was so funny!!!XD great job!
Nice job! Experiences happen only once, but so do memories. Memories used to be experiences. Then they passed and turned into memories. When they used to be experiences THEY only happened once. Then you turn it into a memory as you grow up so you can replay it as many times as you like.
Great minds think alike! I love your favorite memory! I love spending time with my dogs, and enjoying the nonsense that they create in the house! I enjoy the memories that we make with them each and every day! Great job!
I think that real experiences are more important than memories of real experiences because what if you really enjoyed something and then it changes over time to something you don’t like then it would be better to experience it. Like what if you want to write a story about the trip you had last summer but can’t remember your favorite part and details to support it then you make it be a part you didn’t like. My favorite memory was when first got my dog. She is the most silliest, most strongest, most kindest, and has the most funniest dog I have ever seen! When ever my parents are trying to tickle me or are just playing around(fake punching, picking me up, etc) she either gets jealous or tries to attack my parents to protect me. For example once when my mom picked me up she got jealous and my mom had to pick her up to make her happy. Another example is when one of the cats get love and attention and she gets jealous and tries to take their place.
I definitely think that experiences are important and a crucial part of "living life," but I ask you... If you only have the experience and can't remember it once it ends, what's the point? I enjoyed reading the responses to this topic! Great job!
To Jules: it was a bit hard but we knew se wqas the one. we had to vote between hope (nalla one of leela's sisters) or spots (leela) and we chose leela. devin was so sad but in the end he was glad we got her
Cute. I find dogs very protective over other things like one time I got bitten by a dog because I touched a WALL no joke. Awesome job, I finished my apple cake though :( you gotta be kitten me..
I think that a memory is more important than the actual experience, because you could remember it forever and keep it in your heart until the day you pass. My favorite memory was when me and my stepdad asked for a milkshake with every ice cream flavor they had.It was delicous , but gross at the same time. It was fun to do, but probably a waste of time and gas to get there and most likely a waste of money too. My favorite flavor of ice cream would have to be mint chip or low fat cappuccino gelato. It has a very potent cappuccino flavor. It is like creamy and quite rich but still mouth watering and delicious. It comes with three little coffee beans covered in chocolate in a square shaped box. Also my favorite topping for ice cream is small or quite large and my favorite color of gummy bear would have to be red yellow or orange, but mainly I like orange best. I hope you enjoyed this weeks blog.
I must agree that I value the memories more than the experiences simple because one the experience is over, the memory lives on forever! By the way, I am not a big sweets person, but that milkshake really sounds nasty! Great job!
To me memories that remain when the experiences are over are more important because it is better to have the memories to hold on and have forever. I love holding on my memories because it is like you can keep those moments forever. I would not pick to have the actual experience because you only have that moment for a little amount of time and you do not get to keep it in your heart.
It is hard to chose one of my best memories. I did a lot of things that are the best. If I had to chose one it would be …. meeting my little brother for the first time because it was one of the best things that has ever happened to me. I had been waiting for a long time to have a little brother. I remember when I walked in the hospital to see him and hold him. He was a munchkin. I remember when we went out to get the stuff for his room and my dad and I were sorting out stuff for his room. Together my dad and I decorated his room. I will always remember that moment for my whole life.
Great minds think alike! I agree with you that memories are what makes life worth living! I also must say that I enjoyed hearing that your best memory was your brother being born! I love it when I read about students having close relationships with their siblings! Brothers are the greatest! Great job!
I think this question is difficult. When an experience passes, it becomes a memory. So, if you think about it, they’re basically each other in past tense and present tense. Past tense is a memory, present tense is an experience. I guess either one would be just fine. An experience is good because it’s happening to you right now. A memory is good because the thought that it happened to you fills you with happiness, thinking of the past. They’re both fine in they’re own ways. As for a favorite memory, I’d have to say the play. This year’s play. Not that the other ones were bad or anything like that. It was just fun to be a purple monkey rolling around on a stage. Failing to do cartwheels on purpose to be funny, (Even though I can’t do it anyway) sliding, having Valerie land on my back during practice when she was doing a cartwheel, (Ow) I could go on forever! There are many great memories that used to be experiences!
I must say that you are the first one that seemed to realize that experiences and memories go hand in hand. If you have the memory, then you have already had the experience!! I believe that reliving the experiences through memories are awesome! Great job!
This is the hardest blog yet! It's just like which came first the chicken or the egg? I would have to go with memories. If you go zip lining in Canada you would only have the experience. And experience is a once in a lifetime thing. With the memories you can remember the fun time. In the future people might invent a machine where you could re-live your memories! If you did not have the memories you could not re-live the experience! The only good thing if you don't have memories you won't remember bad things like civil war or world war 1 and 2. My favorite memory is when I went ziplining in Canada. It was so fun! Since I had to go in cannon ball form I decided to go upside down. Not the best move I ever made. I got stuck and I thought I was going to barf! It was the most awesomest/ craziest/scariest memories I had.
Great job! Like I said in my blog and on everyone else's: When an experience passes, IT BECOMES A MEMORY!!! So, you CAN replay it in your head just like a normal memory. Sorry if I sounded mean. It's just that I'm getting a bit frustrated because it's kind of obvious and clear for anyone to see.
That's VERY complicated question. The chicken would have to come first but that chicken had to hatch out of an egg. But a chicken had to lay that egg. And that chicken was also born in an egg too. That egg had to be lain too. And so on. It's unknown!
Kyle, my dear, you make me laugh! And, although a challenging blog topic, you handled it well! I must agree that the memories are best, simply because, if you have the memories, then you obviously had the experience! It's kind of the best of both worlds! Great job!
I think having a memory of doing something is better then not having the memory. Some things you only have one chance to do so you won't be able to remember you did it. If you did something totally, extremely, amazing and couldn't remember that would be sad. You wouldn't be able to go up to someone and say "hey, remember when we did that together and had so much fun." If someone went up to you and said that you would be clueless. My best memory is going to Disney with my brother my dad my grandparents my four cousins and my aunt and uncle. It was so much fun. When we got there we went to the pool we didn't have any bathing suits and no one else was there so we all jumped in with their clothes on it was so fun. One day we were there o went on splash mountain with my grandmother. It was a blast.
I agree with you completely!! Having the memories from experiences is the best of both worlds! You can relive the moments over and over in your mind, and the experiences stay with you! I also must say that Disney is definitely one of my favorite places as well! Great job!
I think the memories that remain are more important. Because if you do something you won't be able to remember things and they might be a once in a lifetime experience. For example, one time I went to see Taylor Swift with two other friends and we had a blast. Maybe something great happened when you were little, you can't remember that. When my sister was born it was the greatest day of my life and if the memories didn't remain I wouldn't remember that day. The best memory that I have would probably be when my sister was born. Because I now have someone to play with when I'm bored. Also I could do crafts with her and we could go shopping together. When we went to Disney we got to go on rides together and we got to see characters together. She was so cute when she sees Mickey Mouse. My sister is the most important thing in my life. That is my favorite memory, enjoy!
I must agree with you! Memories are an awesome extension of experiences and you can relive them over and over again! I also am very happy when I read a comment about students loving their siblings! Having a sibling is the greatest thing in the world! Enjoy her! Great job!
I think memories from experiences that happened because you get to talk about them. My favorite memory is when I first used a metal sword, it was so awesome using it as a green belt, now I'm blue soon to be navy. Using the metal sword told me I earned to use it because you have to earn the use to use a metal sword and at the end of this i'm typing a use count. Using a metal sword was awesome because I usually use a wooden sword which you use to practice ( same with the metal sword but you have to earn it to use it ) I think people should try new things too cause it will help them get more memories. Use count = 12 ._. wow I type use a lot updated use count = 14.
I agree with you that having the memories from the experiences is the best! I have had some many different experiences in my life, and without the memories, they would be gone. It is memories that keep things real. Great job, and congrats on the karate thing! My brother and father were both Black belts in Tae Kwon Do!
This is the hardest blog ever ( or at least yet).I think the memories are more important than the experience. The memories are the most important because you really only experience once and your memories last (almost) last forever. But sometimes when you only experience something once your memory is not that well. So in order to keep your memory last longer you need to experience more than once. My favorite memory is …wait for it ……. Keep waiting……. it waaaaaaaas………. when I went to Disney World!!! Going to Disney World is my favorite memory because well going to Disney is like everyone’s favorite memory( well almost well almost everyone’s). I still remember the first ride. I don’t remember what it was called but if you know what i am talking about please tell me in the replies. You ride in space ships and shot batteries with a laser shooter and half way through you see Zerg and Buzz light year fighting. Well this is the end.
I don't know what that ride is called. The first Disney ride I went on was....um....I don't know what it's called either. It has water, fake cacti, fake dry land, and you go into a cave where the water come pouring down. Nice work!
To me the memory is better than the actual experience because you can look back at the memory and have a laugh in the future like say you go to an arcade and you win a hoverboard from one of those mystery box crane machines. You can also remember a time when you first went on a certain rolercoaster. You can even remember a funny time like when you discover a glitch in a game or a lucky time when you find a $100 dollar bill flying in the air.Another good memory to look back at is when you win the lottery.the memory is most of the time way better than the actual experience because of the reasons that I have listed in my own opinion yours may be different.(yours probably way more is different from mine but maybe it isn't)
awesome job!And just so you know my life is cat-ostrophic I mean, meow! I just hurt my self bad that mark will be there fur-ever, I may be on my last tail right now so i'll paws by the way whos excited for Memorial day when we get to through a ball, hit a target and have a paw-lice officer get wet. Yes I also have good puns.
Gavin, THERE CAN ONLY BE ONE!!!!!!!! P.S. Yesterday I got dunked in the dunk tank. The Andrew in 5th Grade with blackish hair knocked me down. It was VERY dirty and wet. I had to take a shower. Cats HATE water. They're also so fluffy and/or silky! Don't you think they're purr-fect? I want one who's favorite clor is purr-ple!

DeleteYou are totally right. Memories you can keep them in you heart unit you pass on. Your best memory is hilarious.
DeleteTerrific! But an experience CAN remain in your heart after it passes. An experience that passed becomes a memory.
DeleteGreat job Chloe you have amazing writings
DeleteI would like to try that milkshake. It sounds like a drink I had before. It's called the suicide. Great blog!

I don’t remember what it was called but if you know what i am talking about please tell me in the replies. You ride in space ships and shot batteries with a laser shooter and half way through you see Zerg and Buzz light year fighting. Well this is the end.
ReplyDeleteI don't know what that ride is called. The first Disney ride I went on was....um....I don't know what it's called either. It has water, fake cacti, fake dry land, and you go into a cave where the water come pouring down. Nice work!
DeleteNice work! I don't know if the ride was Space mountain, I have not been to Disney so I'm guessing. Your blog was to Fantastic 4 me bum dum tis!!
DeleteTo me the memory is better than the actual experience because you can look back at the memory and have a laugh in the future like say you go to an arcade and you win a hoverboard from one of those mystery box crane machines.
ReplyDeleteThis is Andrew if it doesn't say so
